Our Principal

Shawn Wright is the Principal at Brandywine Wallace Elementary School. Prior to this role, he was the Assistant Principal of Downingtown Middle School. Before coming to DASD, Shawn was a building principal in the School District of Philadelphia, an assistant principal in Coatesville, and a supervisor of curriculum and instruction at a charter school in Center City. During his teaching years, Shawn taught 1^st and 4^th grades, led an Instructional Support team, and supervised RtII programs.

Shawn is a proud alumnus of the University of Central Oklahoma where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He completed a Master’s Degree in Education and his principal certificate from Cabrini College and a Master’s Degree in Theology from Villanova University. Shawn recently earned his Doctoral Degree in educational leadership from Widener University.

Most importantly, Shawn is the proud father of three beautiful children who are fortunate students in the DASD. He lives in Downingtown with his wonderful, patient wife. In addition to being an insatiable reader and a Phanatical sports fan, Shawn enjoys music, coaching, puzzles, and good food & fun-time with friends and family.
