Club Description: The elementary band program for grades 4 and 5 is designed to help students build a foundation of musical skills while playing a band instrument. Emphasis is placed on learning to read and understand written music notation including letter names, note types and rest values. Students participate in lessons and attend rehearsals before school.

Club Description: Students in this club produce the school's morning announcements.

Who is eligible: 5th grade students

Club Description: Students in grades 4 and 5 will begin to develop the vocal instrument and experience unison and part singing as a group. They will use a varied repertoire of music, to learn more about reading music and performing. No limit to participation. This ensemble rehearses before school.

Club Description: Students will learn through hands-on learning about different plants, growing practices and how to help a garden thrive. This club is available in the Fall and in the Spring.

Club Description: Students in grades 4 and 5 will engage in various sports and activities in the gym/BW campus to improve their physical conditioning during this fun and energizing program. This club meets after school on Tuesday and Thursday.

Club Description: Students learn to play a string instrument and develop their musical skills. Students in grades 4 and 5 play string instruments in the orchestra and perform in concerts (winter and spring). Students participate in lessons and attend rehearsals before school.

Who is eligible: 3rd-5th grade students

Club Description: Any student in grades 4 and 5 may join this club and they will be exposed to many pieces of quality literature. Students will then be selected to participate in the final competition team of 12 based on the number of books read and the familiarity of the content of those books. This club meets after school in the spring.

Club Description: Students learn leadership skills while assisting with school activities. To be eligible, students must be in good academic standing, demonstrate good citizenship, and consistently display positive behavior. All participants are also expected to follow established safety guidelines to ensure a safe and responsible environment for students at East Ward! Safeties meet once a month during 5th grade recess. Students can apply for the safety patrol at the end of their 4^th grade year.

Club Description: Student council is a club that provides students the opportunity to develop leadership skills, practice good citizenship and encourage school spirit.
