Kdg.

Dear Kindergarten families,
We hope you all have enjoyed a fun filled relaxing summer. It is hard to believe the school year is almost here. We are working hard to get everything ready for the first day of school on Monday, August 25th.
Our back to school night for Kindergarten students will be held Tuesday, August 19th 6:00-7:00pm. Kindergarten will hold a parent only informational zoom to review classroom expectations and curriculum information on Monday August 19th - more information will be shared closer to the date. Many important pieces of information will be provided during these times, please make every effort to attend.
All of the necessary school supplies will be provided for your child; however, it is important to bring the following:
- A large backpack (this should be able to fit all daily papers and a Chromebook)
- A pair of headphones that can be kept at school (please no earbuds or bluetooth)
- An old shirt for art (please write the students name clearly on the front of the shirt)
- A 2-gallon zip-lock bag for library books (this will help protect the books between school and home)
Although we provide all needed supplies; classroom donations are always welcome. The following is a supply wish list:
- Glue sticks
- Black dry erase markersMarkers
- Clorox wipes
- Handi Wipes / Diaper Wipes (for messy hands ☺)
- Tissues
- Liquid hand soap
- Zip lock bags - gallon, quart and sandwich sizes
We can’t wait to meet your children and share an amazing year with them.

Grade 1
Dear Friends,
We hope that everyone is having a wonderful summer. It is time for us to think about our new school year. We have been busy getting everything organized and ready to have great experiences together! We cannot wait to share more with you. Back to School Night is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, August 19th from 6:00 – 7:00pm.
The first week of school begins Monday, August 25, 2025. We are going to learn so much this year! We’ll explore plants, powerful forces, animal features, and lots of other exciting topics!
School supplies needed for first grade:
- Backpack (large enough to accommodate library books, Chromebooks, and daily mail)
- Art shirt (old, short sleeved tee shirt that will easily fit over clothes)-please print first name, last initial on front of shirt
- A two-gallon Ziploc bag with your child’s name on it for Library use
- 1 flat pocket folder—no binders necessary
We have many school supplies here. If you are doing back-to-school shopping, these are optional items that would be helpful to have:
- 1 pack of black, low-odor dry erase markers. We highly prefer thin markers for handwriting, if at all possible.
- Crayons
- Pencil case
- 2 Containers of disinfectant wipes - no need to label
- 2 Packs of glue sticks (we have found that Elmer’s works really well!)
- 1 old sock to be used as an eraser
- Hand sanitizer
- Tissues
To start off our school year, we would like your child to share one summer memory. It can be a picture, a souvenir, or a craft that your child made. Please bring any memory items on the first day of school, labeled with your child’s name.
We look forward to getting to know you and having a great start to our school year! SEE YOU SOON!
Love,
Brandywine Wallace’s First Grade Team

Back to School Night is on August 19th, please stop by anytime between 6 and 7pm! We can’t wait to meet you there!
Here is a list of supplies we would like for you to have on the first day of school. Please make sure that the folders, pencil case, crayons, colored pencils, art shirt, and the 2-gallon Ziploc bag for Library are labeled with your name.

WELCOME TO THIRD GRADE!
DEAR 3RD GRADER,
We hope that you’re having a fantastic summer and are ready for an exciting, fun, and busy 3 Grade year!
3rd graders will be switching teachers for ELA and Math/Content this year. You are responsible for having all the items below in your backpack ready to use for both classes. To help you get ready, please make sure all your supplies are labeled with your first and last name. You’ll need:
- 16–24 pack of colored pencils (no markers are needed)
- two-pocket folder (please don’t bring binders or Trapper Keepers)
- soft zippered pencil case—not a box.
- In your pencil case, include a:
- blue, green, or red ballpoint pen (avoid gel or fluorescent pens)
- yellow (required for state testing)
- at least four highlighter sharpened #2 pencils and two good erasers. Mechanical pencils are fine if you bring your own lead. Please avoid gel or fluorescent pens.
- You’ll also need a set of headphones for Chromebook activities and an SSR (silent reading) book for daily independent reading.
At home, we recommend setting up a quiet homework spot with pencils, a sharpener, erasers, crayons or colored pencils, a ruler, and a dictionary.
We hope the rest of your summer is safe and relaxing. Back to School Night is on Wednesday, August 20 at 6:00 pm and the first day of school is Monday, August 25th. We are looking forward to a great year!
Sincerely,
Your 3rd Grade Teachers
Grade 4
Dear Fourth Grader,
Welcome to 4th Grade!
The first day of school is quickly approaching. So you don’t have butterflies in your stomach for the first day of school, we want to give you a little bit of information on how to be organized for your classes. For your first assignment, you will need to share this letter with your parents! In order to prepare for the beginning of the school year we have provided a list of what you will need.
- An Art T-shirt for the year with your name on the label. Please put this shirt into a gallon size zip locked plastic baggie and write your name on the bag.
- A daily healthy snack is optional. We have a snack each day at approximately 10:30 a.m. (Remember no NUTS or FISH products in your snack).
- (4) notebooks: one red, blue, green, and yellow.
- (6) plastic folders. DO NOT LABEL your folders or notebooks! We will complete this task together. Please bring one of each of the following colored folders: red, yellow, orange, blue, green, and one of any color/style of your choosing.
- A pencil case, pencils, highlighter, and a few Expo markers. Colored pencils/crayons are nice to have but not required.
- A pair of Earbuds or Headphones for your Chromebook.
In addition, our classrooms are always in need of tissues, Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer and Expo markers.
You will be receiving an assignment book provided by the Brandywine Wallace Home and School Association. All students are responsible for copying assignments in the book as they are given, and for taking the book home to complete all assignments
From time to time, fourth grade will require volunteer homeroom parents. Parents will have an opportunity to sign up at Back to School Night. We look forward to meeting everyone then, and we appreciate all of your help
Students, please come prepared on our first day, August 25th, with a smile and ready to work hard and have fun. We are looking forward to working with all of you and having a wonderful year together!
Sincerely,
The Fourth Grade Teachers
